海南林科所树木园建立于1960年。该园位于屯昌县与琼中县交界处,在地形上为丘陵向山地过渡地带,较接近于山地气候,年雨量在1500——2500毫米之间,不常遭受台风的侵袭。植被多为稀树高草灌丛,或茅草荒坡,表土较肥沃,但土层不够深厚,局部地方(多在小山坡顶部)常有石砾或岩石裸露,土壤多属黄灰色砂壤土。到1966年止,共种有乔灌木105科760种,其中裸子植物8科24种,被子植物97科736种。
Hainan Linke Arboretum was established in 1960. The park is located at the junction of Tunchang County and Qiongzhong County. It is a transition zone between hills and mountains on the terrain. It is closer to the mountainous climate with an annual rainfall of 1500-2500 mm, which is not often hit by typhoons. Vegetation mostly tall trees and shrubs, or grassland barren, more fertile topsoil, but the soil is not deep enough, in some places (mostly in small hilltops) often exposed gravel or rock, soil mostly yellow-gray sandy loam soil. By 1966, a total of 760 species of trees and shrubs were found in 105 families, including 24 families of 8 families of gymnosperms and 736 families of 97 families of angiosperms.
