在需要低温条件的科研和生产中,人们普遍使用液氮、液氮和液态的氟里昂等液化气体作为冷源,贮藏冷源的低温容器大多采用金属密封罐装结构。而在实际使用时,又往往要求精确地测定液面的高度和及时了解液面高度的变化。因此,用于对密封罐装容器内波位面高度测量的仪器就成为低温领域中必不可少的测量仪器。对于密封罐装容器内液位面的监测,有多种方法。本文介绍一种带有辐射源并利用其电离辐射在穿透物质时,被物质部分地吸收,而这种吸收又与它穿透物质的密度以及穿透物质的总量有关。电高辐射探测器将随电高辐射被吸收情况的变化而给出与之相适应的变化信号。采集并处理这些信号,能使这种液位计监测密封罐装容器内的液位面。

The collection and processing of these signals enables the level gauge to monitor the level of the liquid in the sealed canister.
