进入21世纪后,随着两岸即将入世和台商新一轮大陆投资热的到来,广东虽然仍将继续成为台商在大陆投资的热点地区之一,但因入世后大陆宏观经济政策的调整和经济环境的变化,特别是广东在招商引资力度、投资管理体制、海关报关程序和社会治安环境等投资软环境方面存在的问题比较突出,使广东在新的经济环境下引进台资的优势地位逐渐丧失,不少原来在广东投资的台商也纷纷转移到上海、江苏等地投资,新世纪广东引进台资面临严峻挑战。
