Not long ago, an exciting news came from the other side of the ocean: An associate professor at Shenyang Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, today visited the University of Chicago to solve an extremely complex mineral crystal structure called Cacoxe-nite )structure. In this structure, he discovered a large new hole parallel to the C-axis, with a free pore size of 14.2A (1A = 10 -8 cm). This is a natural new molecular sieve material. It is nearly twice as large as the free pore size (up to 8A) which is widely used in the world and contains large channels, zeolite containing water, adsorbent, and molecular sieve.
