美育对培养全面发展的社会主义建设人才起着举足轻重的作用,它是人格建设、人文精神的荟萃。传统美育中有许多有关使人性境界得以完美以及人格精神得以充实的思想理论。而当我们中华民族跨入21世纪后,面对纷繁复杂的大千世界时,许多人产生了不可遏止的失重感,如人格失衡、心灵空忙,因此我们必须对当今中国人的审美精神与人格境界做一些反省,汲取传统美育中的精髓,培养具有人格美的当代人。
