丹麦各主要政党于1986年6月达到协议,决定在西兰、菲英两大岛间,迄今只通轮渡运输的大海峡上修建永久性交通线。业经酝酿数十年的这一工程,终将成为事实。大海峡最窄处宽18km,被一小岛分成东西两水道。东水道是重要的国际航运通路,最深达60m。第一期工程包括在西水道上建一长6~7km 的铁路桥,在东水道下建一铁路隧道,另外还要修引桥和填筑路基。水下隧道采取何种方案要在投标报价后决定,如取沉埋方式将长5km;如取钻挖方式则长6~7km。这期工程预期于1993年完成,届时丹麦国铁的路网将
Denmark’s major political parties reached an agreement in June 1986 and decided to establish a permanent traffic line between the two major islands of Zealand and the Philippines on the Great Strait, to date, by ferry transport.
