1989年11月,由 British Council 和 BBC联合发起的国际英语教学讨论会在匈牙利首都布达佩斯举行。来自英国和匈牙利的几十位国际知名语言学家和英语教学专家,其中包括:Peter Trudgill,Keith Brown,Ju-lian Brown,John Wells,Alan Maley,Ch-ris Brumfit,Lewis Littlewond,Jean Green-wood,Michael Short 等,与被邀请来参加旁听和讨论的数百名语言教师聚集在座落于美丽的多瑙河畔的卡尔·马克思大学,就目前国际英语教学的许多热点问题展开了热烈的讨论。讨论会采取大会报告和分组讨论的形式。与会的语言学家和教育专家们向大会报告了各自的最新研究成果和教育实践经验,并对一些引起争议的问题发表了不同的意见。持续四天的讨论会议题主要包括:Phonology,Applied Linguistics,Lexis,Sociology,Education,Curriculum Design以及 Literature Teaching 等。讨论会对近年来,尤其是近五年来国际英语教学理论和实
In November 1989, an international English teaching seminar co-sponsored by the British Council and the BBC was held in Budapest, Hungary. Dozens of internationally renowned linguists and English language teaching experts from the UK and Hungary include: Peter Trudgill, Keith Brown, Ju-lian Brown, John Wells, Alan Maley, Ch-ris Brumfit, Lewis Littlewond, Jean Green-wood , Michael Short et al., Gathered with Karl Marx University on the beautiful Danube river with hundreds of language teachers invited to attend and discuss the topic, and discussed many hot topics in current international English teaching. The symposium takes the form of conference reports and group discussions. The participating linguists and education experts reported their latest research findings and educational experiences to the General Assembly and expressed their opinions on some controversial issues. The four-day seminar topics mainly include: Phonology, Applied Linguistics, Lexis, Sociology, Education, Curriculum Design and Literature Teaching.
