鉴定菌系时,保持菌系致病性不变是非常重要的。如果仅仅为了保存,在液体石腊中置放于室温下,可以维持其生存力达十年之久。但为了一边用、一边保存,尚无不使其致病性发生变异的繁殖法。单纯的继代培养繁殖,会造成致病性发生各种变化。于是,作者用了下图所示的方法。方法中所用的鉴别致病性的品种,是日本只具有一个抗病基因的品种。基因数一致,十分重要。现在所用的是爱知旭(pi-a),关东51号(pi-k),藤坂5号(pi-i),Kl(pi-ta),pi.4(pi-ta~2),福锦(pi-z),及无抗病基因的新2号等七个品种。
