乳黄瓜是酱菜的原料。扬州酱乳瓜传统品种有笃瓜和线瓜两种。笃瓜的瓜形粗短,多子,不抗病,线瓜瓜条细长,抗病性也较差。有些抗病性强的品种,雌花数少,瓜条太长且肉薄多子,不适宜摘乳瓜。1980年我们用抗病性较强的雌性系广东粤早-75与线瓜中雌性强的株系杂交,培育成一代杂种——线杂1号。杂种的乳瓜皮色翠绿,瓜条细长,两头粗细一致,无子,经扬州三和、四美酱品厂
