Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, odorless gas that is absorbed through the respiratory tract. Inhaled CO enters the bloodstream through the alveoli and immediately combines with hemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin (HbCO). The higher the CO partial pressure in the air, the higher the HbCO concentration. Most of the absorbed CO is excreted by the respiratory tract in a constant form. At normal atmospheric pressure, the CO half-emission period is 128 to 409 min with an average of 320 min. Stop touching?
