今年2、3月,承蒙中美教育联合会邀请,我们一行4人赴美考察交流,参观了3所美国学校。我们首先参观了洛杉矶的California小学,该校是一所普通的公立小学,是3所学校中生源条件最好的,所在社区拉丁裔占主流,还有白人、亚裔、墨西哥裔。接着我们参观了圣地亚哥的Benchely-Weinberger小学,该校位于墨西哥裔聚居的贫困区域,但是校领导们的言谈举止却显得有些“财大气粗”。最后我们参观了洛杉矶的圣特莫尼卡社区学校,该校同样位于墨西哥裔聚居的贫困区域,但是该校实行公立学校自主化办
In February and March this year, with the invitation of the China-US Education Federation, four people from one delegation went to the United States for study tours and visited three U.S. schools. We first visited the California primary school in Los Angeles. The school is an ordinary public elementary school. It has the best students from three schools. Its communities are predominantly Latino and white, Asian and Mexican. Then we visited Benchely-Weinberger Elementary School in San Diego. The school is located in a predominantly Mexican-poor area, but school leaders are somewhat “rich and powerful.” Finally, we visited the Santa Monica Community School in Los Angeles, which is also located in a poor, Mexican-concentrated neighborhood, but with the implementation of public school self-government
