The factors that affect the solubility of inorganic salts are extremely complex. Many authors have proposed many solubility formulas in this regard, but there is no simple but effective formula that summarizes them. Have suggested that for the MX and MX2 salts, they have the lowest solubility when the radius ratios of their positive and negative ions are respectively 0.7 and 1.1. The relationship between divalent salt solubility and cation radius is theoretically derived.
