湖北省经济管理干部学院是1983年经湖北省人民政府和教育部批准建立,从事本、专科学历教育的正规化、多学科、综合性公办高等院校。现有在校生11000余人,学院现设有工商管理、财金管理系、计算机信息工程系、政治法律系、外语系、基础课部、函授部、培训部、外语培训中心等教学机构,开设20多个本、专科专业。现有“双师型”教师188人,其中正副教授、研究员87人,讲师60人,还有一批高水平的外聘教师。在20多年的办学实践中培养的4万余名各类经济管理人才,深受用人单位欢迎,被誉为“企业家摇篮”。经湖北省教育厅核准,2004年学院学生报考省属本科院校专升本录取率达76%,毕业生就业率、各类英语通级考试在同类院校中保持较高水平。国家外专局所属的全国工商企业出国培训备选人员武汉外语考试/培训中心(BFT)设在院内。学院2002年3月经国家经贸委授牌,成立国家经贸委武汉经理学院,专门从事培养中高层企业管理人才。1998年学院被人事厅定点为全省公务员培训基地。学院多次被省教育厅等部门评为先进院校和优秀培训中心。
