Ba radioisotopes were produced by bombarding 2 32 Th targets with 60 Me V / u 18 O ions; Ba was separated from bulk thorium target materials and complex reaction product mixtures by Ba Cl 2 precipitation and purified; and 13 3Ba as a tracer to determine Ba chemistry Yield; Ba samples were measured by off-line gamma spectrometry; their cross-section was calculated from the intensity of the gamma ray peak for each Ba isotope and the associated nuclear data. The results show that in the case of medium energy and thick targets, the neutron Ba isotopes still have a higher generation cross section
