作为20世纪最重要的诗人之一,伊丽莎白·毕晓普对于诗学观点一向保持缄默的态度。不过通过仔细阅读她关于回忆主题的诗歌,结合她自身的经历和爱好,可以发现她在自己各个阶段的诗歌中逐步实现她自己所提倡的动态诗学观点。首先,在其早期的诗歌中她以一种象征的手法来探索关于童年的回忆;其次,在中期的诗歌,她的这种探索更进一步,以具有视觉效果的图象来表现对于过去的回忆;最后,在她后期的诗歌中,毕晓普将回忆变成一种动态的、经历时间的、具有图像特征的叙述与图景,因此跨越了时间与空间的界限,在诗歌中实现了一种本应视觉艺术才具有的特征,真正实践了她自己所提倡的动态诗学观点。
As one of the most important poets of the twentieth century, Elizabeth Bishop has always remained silent on the poetics.
