杂交水稻的秋季制种,不仅可以充分利用地力多收一季早稻,降低杂稻制种成本,而且还能夺高产。1977年全县秋制面积429.7亩,平均亩产76.2斤,其中县农业局塘头尧民秋制点,秋制78亩南优六号,平均亩产101.5斤,最高亩产256斤;1978年全县在塘头坝上集中成片秋制南优二号、南优六号,汕优六号共1,884.4亩,平均亩产71斤,其中374.8亩,平均亩产84.4斤;1980年在塘头坝上秋制234亩,虽然受到严重的寒露风侵袭,平均亩产仍达46.07斤,大高楼生产队15亩制种高产田,平均亩产突破了80斤。这就说明杂交水稻的秋季制种,在我县是成功的。我县自1980年起已将杂交水稻的制种定为以秋
