金亡后,段克己、段成己避居于河东龙门山并与一些当地文士结成诗社,他们以志节相砥砺,一起承受亡国之忧和生民之痛,他们在这一过程中的一系列创作都反映了被迫退隐后的心理活动,这也是当时具有普遍性的遗民心态。这种以爱国情怀为内涵的遗民心态实际上还含有儒家一贯的文化使命感和责任感。二段后来对新朝的态度有所转变,这也是他们文化使命感的表露。他们一方面继承了金朝多民族共同文化的成果,同时,又为元代多民族统一文化局面的出现做出了努力。此外,作为遗民诗社,二段的诗社活动在其遗民性内涵和群体性的活动形式方面都对后世具有极大的启发意义,并为后世相似时代的文人活动所仿效。
