Dear Editor,Professor Youyou Tu,China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,Beijing,was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for "her discoveries conceing a novel therapy against malaria" (https://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/medicine/laureates/2015/press.html).This therapy is based on the sesquiterpenoid artemisinin,isolated from Artemisia annua.Artemisinin and its derivatives,administered in the form of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs),are currently the best treatment for malaria.
