英语中数词主要分为两种：基数词和序数词。基数词表示数目的多少，序数词则表示顺序。在各地的中考英语试题中，对数词的考查是命题的重点。现对数词的常见考点进行总结，同时链接中考真题加以训练，以期同学们能熟练掌握这一知识点。
考点一：基数词和序数词的构成及用法
【知识点拨】基数词表示数目的多少，序数词表示先后顺序。序数词一般都是由对应的基数词变化而来的。基数词变为序数词一般是在基数词后加“-th”。在运用时，序数词前通常须加定冠词the，但若序数词前有名词所有格或形容词性物主代词时，则须去掉the。还应注意序数词的一些特殊变化：（1）少数序数词的构成属于特殊情况，需特别记忆。如：one→first，two→second，three→third，five→fifth，eight→eighth，nine→ninth，twelve→twelfth;（2）以y结尾的十位整数，应先将y变为i， 再加“-eth”。如：thirty→thirtieth，fifty→fiftieth;（3）对非十位整数，只需将末尾数变为序数词，其它不变。如：twenty-one→twenty-first，thirty-five→thirty-fifth。

考点二：分数的表达法
【知识点拨】英语中分数的表达法为：分子是基数词，分母是序数词;分子大于“1”时，分母用复数。如：1/3写为one third; 2/3写为two thirds。

考点三：数词hundred， thousand， million的用法
【知识点拨】hundred， thousand， million等基数词用来表达不确定数目时，用“hundreds/thousands/millions of+复数名词”表达，其中of不可少，同时基数词前不可用具体数字修饰。若hundred， thousand， million前有具体数字修饰时，则其后不可加“s”和“of”。

考点四：数词和名词连用作定语的用法
