Intracranial tumors, like many other tumors, have a long incubation period with insignificant or atypical symptoms. Continued development may present with significant neurological symptoms and may even be the direct cause of death. This is related to the growth rate of intracranial tumors, swelling of the brain, hydrocephalus and compression displacement of the brainstem. The authors observed a sudden death in 8 cases of intracranial tumors from 1981 to 1985, accounting for 15% of non-violent deaths. Six of the sudden deaths occurred at home and one in the street and one in the bathroom. Only 1 case had a history of “chronic pia mater arachnoiditis” hospitalized, the remaining 7 cases were not seeking medical treatment.
