自我决定理论认为,赋予学生在学习中自己决定学习目标、过程和评价方式的做法,将会极大地提高学生的内在动机,从而促进学生的英语学习。然而,很多研究者宣称由于中国文化的影响,在中国学习者的教学中并不适用自我决定模式。本文分析了中国文化的三大特征,即集体主义倾向、高权力差距,以及不确定性规避,逐一分析了其对学生自我决定实现的影响。在此基础上,提出要运用合作学习的模式,逐步渐进地帮助学生接受并适应自我决定的学习方式,更要重视发挥教师的积极作用及加强对学习策略的培养。
Self-determination theory holds that to give students their own learning decisions, learning objectives, processes and evaluation methods will greatly enhance the intrinsic motivation of students, thus promoting students’ English learning. However, many researchers claim that because of the influence of Chinese culture, self-determination patterns are not applied in Chinese learners’ teaching. This article analyzes the three major characteristics of Chinese culture, namely, the tendency of collectivism, the gap of high power, and the uncertainty avoidance, and analyzes the impact of the three factors on the realization of students’ self-determination. On this basis, it is proposed to use the mode of cooperative learning to gradually and gradually help students to accept and adapt themselves to self-determined learning methods, but also attach importance to giving play to the positive role of teachers and strengthening the cultivation of learning strategies.
