Fire alarms, developed by the British company Sound Alert and assisted by researchers at the University of Leeds, utilize the frequency of sound to enable people in smoke-filled buildings to find the source of the sound correctly and find their escape exit. The traditional audible alarm system has an audio range of about 800Hz ~ 3kHz, only to make people aware of the danger. However, the current fire alarm system emits noise that makes it easier for people to locate the sound source - similar to a waterfall.
