联合运输是运输生产的客观要求。通过组织水陆各种运输方式之间和产供运销之间的联合协作,把多区段、多环节、超区域性的运输过程,衔接成一个整体,以加速车、船、货物和港站库场的周转;它能综合利用各种运输工具,组织合理运输与计划运输,提高运输能力挖掘运输潜力,节省物资流转费用,产生最大的经济效益;同时还可简化运输手续,方便广大群众。发展联合运输,既是国家在国民经济调整中一项现实需要的重要措施,又是现代化建设在运输经济中的长远之计,联合运输,势在必行。本文在初步总结我国联合运输发展的基础上,对联合运输的产生、发展、类型、效果、以及今后的发展进行了较全面的探讨。
