The Aswan Dam, which intercepts the Nile River, the second largest river in the world, is a giant dam of 111 meters in height located in southern Egypt. Its total storage capacity of 164 billion cubic meters, an area of 6,000 square kilometers, up to 500 km, is the world’s second-largest man-made lake. The dam on the east side of the station is equipped with 12 sets of 175,000 kilowatts hydroelectric generators, with a total generating capacity of 2.1 million kilowatts.
