Objective: To understand the long-term exposure to low levels of cadmium environment, high-level activities of children such as learning and memory. Methods: Forty-one primary school boys aged from 8 to 10 were selected from 41 cadmium-contaminated areas and non-contaminated areas adjacent to them, and the memory ability was measured using the Wechsler Memory Scale. Results: The memory of students in cadmium-contaminated area was 72.4 ± 2.52, which was lower than that of 94.1 8 ± 1.73 in control area, the difference was highly significant (P <0.01). Reflect the long-term memory and short-term memory of the scale points, children in the contaminated area lower than the control area, and reflect the instantaneous memory of the scale points, the contaminated area of children and the control area no significant difference (P> 0.05) . Conclusion: Long-term cadmium intake can impair children’s memory ability, which is mainly manifested as long-term memory and short-term memory damage, and has no significant effect on transient memory
