自《雷雨》诞生之日起,蘩漪就成为了文坛上一个震撼人心的悲剧形象。冰华较之于蘩漪,对于大多数人来说,是极为陌生的,她不是文学史上著名的女性形象,甚至很多文学史都不曾提及。她是石评梅于1922年在《晨报〈副刊〉》上发表的被人们称为“问题剧”的《这是谁的罪》中的女主人公。该剧讲述了两个留美回国,两情相悦,志同道合,并热切地想成就一番事业的恋人王甫仁和陈冰华,因遭家庭的反对,男主人公最终被家庭“软化”而酿成了女主人公陈冰华设计杀人,又与男主人公双双自杀的爱情悲剧。由于过于极端和悲情,在当时曾引起很大的争议,引发了长时间的讨论。我们也不能不承认,《这是谁的罪》相对《雷雨》而言,在技法上显得稚嫩了许多,艺术成就也远不及。因此,在热烈的讨论之后慢慢被人们所遗忘了,《雷雨》却以其震撼人心的魅力长久地驻扎在读者心中。
