中西方创意教育的差异之一:左脑型的思辨、批评培养,理论课程目的性和本质性的差异在所有的西方艺术和设计教育中,“批评”(criticism)是作为非常重要的课程提出了的,这个课程核心是批判、分析能力的培养,基础是对艺术、设计的了解和认识。有些艺术院校对理论课程要求得比较突出,包括美学(Aesthetics)、本体论(ontology)、语义学(semantics)、现象学(phenomenology),也突出工作室实践(称之为:studio praxis,是培养观察能力的工作室:empiricalinvestigation)。这些课程在越来越多艺术院校中开设。目的性很明确,就是要提高学生的创意思维能力。简单一点说:创意思维的培养,在两方面:史论方面的大幅度提高和强调,具体设计课程中导师的引导;而解决问题能力、创造能力
