Mr. Jin Shangyi, an oil painter, has a sketch portrait of a young man wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses. This painting is a pen-and-wash, clear-cut, vivid representation of the simple, deep, persevering inner qualities of the painting - a feeling that I am so familiar with because my work is what my instructor Mr. Tan Quanshu has done. Tan Quanshu is the first student attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts. At that time, the famous painters of the Academy of Fine Arts also went to the middle school to give lectures, including Mr. Li Hua. Influenced by Mr. Li, Tan Quanshu began to entertain printmaking and was admitted to the Department of Printmaking of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
