在历史的最初阶段,人的本质究竟是如何表现的呢?它应该是对外部世界本能的、原始的反应。它可能是笨拙的、谬误的、幼稚的,但却是最真实、最单纯、最接近自然、最反映人的本质的。这激发我想从信仰这一表现形式去理解远古人类的历史。人类学者把人类意识的发展归结为对自然的解释——精灵论的(泛神论)、宗教的和科学的三种宇宙观~①。这与历史学上古代的、中世纪的和近代的分期大体一致,似乎是可以接受的。它对历史学借人类文化学的方法来研究人类早期历史,并从文化史的立场来描绘人类的原始状况具有关键作用。
In the earliest stages of history, how did the essence of man behave? It should be an instinctive and original reaction to the outside world. It may be clumsy, fallacious, childish, but it is the most real, the simplest, the closest to nature, and most reflects the essence of man. This inspired me to understand the history of ancient humanity from the manifestation of faith. Anthropologists attribute the development of human consciousness to the interpretation of nature - three kinds of cosmological concepts of etymology (pantheism), religion and science. This seems to be generally acceptable, in keeping with the historical stages of the ancient, medieval and modern periods. It plays a key role in the study of the early history of mankind by means of historical anthropology and the portrayal of the primitive condition of mankind from the standpoint of cultural history.
