Medical investment has turned to the statistics of the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China. Since 2000, there have been 300,000 medical institutions of all kinds in China, 130,000 non-public ownership institutions, and 200 foreign-funded hospitals approved by the Ministry of Health (including 50% cooperation between China and foreign countries). All indications are that the world’s medical market capital is undergoing a third shift - from 1980 to 1990 in Europe, before and after 1995 to Latin America, and now it has begun to come to China. Since the 1990s, the service expenditure of urban residents in China has increased from 11.7% in 1992 to 38.8% in 2003. By 2003, the Engel coefficient has dropped to 37.1%. Consumption upgrade means that Chinese residents have transformed from subsistence needs to education.
