RNA extracted from lymphoid organs from immunized donors and from antigen-sensitized macrophages in vitro can convert normally un-immunized lymphocytes into immunocompetent states. This immune RNA preparations can cause cellular immune response and antibody synthesis. In recent years, many researchers have demonstrated that human and animal lymphocytes release macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) after incubation with immune RNA extracted from immunized donor lymphoid cells.
