The number of vehicles owned by Japan’s private railways has expanded correspondingly with the economic growth. There are currently 19,874 vehicles (number of vehicles being booked at the end of July), of which 17,901 are tankers. This is the status quo of trains with private goods including dangerous goods tankers.
