1964年10月16日,周恩来总理在人民大会堂向几千名参加演出大型音乐舞蹈史诗《东方红》的演职人员正式宣布:“我国第一颗原子弹爆炸成功了！”当天晚上,党中央、国务院向全国、全世界宣布了这条具有历史和现实意义的消息。时隔不到3年,1967年6月17日,我国又向世人宣告由我们中国人自己研制的第一颗氢弹也爆炸成功了。原子弹、氢弹这“两弹”的爆炸成功,标志着从此结束了我国没有核武器的历史,打破了帝国主义的核垄断和核讹诈,为保卫祖国和世界和平作出了重大的贡献。
