石人雕刻兴起于欧亚草原地区,作为古代游牧社会一种重要的丧葬习俗和墓志刻石,有着广泛的地域性特点。而作为世界范围内的原生态艺术创作形式,石人雕刻前后持续了约有一千多年的历史。在广阔的中亚草原上,从塞人到突厥部落都留下了丰富的石雕图像,从其风格手法的肇始与艺术观念的走向来看,它亦可贯穿于艺术史的文脉之中。另一方面,无论从艺术样式抑或文化形态方面来看,石人雕塑及石刻形象的鲜明特点,也已成为人类精神形态中无法绕过的文化现象。
Stone carving rose in the Eurasian steppe region, as an ancient nomadic society an important funeral custom and epitaph stone, has a wide range of regional characteristics. As a form of original ecological art in the world, the stone man has been engraving for about a thousand years before and after. In the wide grasslands of Central Asia, rich stone carving images have been left from the Serbs to the Turkic tribes. From the beginning of its style and the direction of artistic conception, it can also penetrate the context of art history. On the other hand, the distinctive features of the stone sculpture and the stone image have become the cultural phenomenon that can not be bypassed in the spiritual form of mankind, both in terms of artistic style and cultural forms.
