作者分别测试了30颗儿童与成年人新鲜离体活髓牙的直流电阻值，发现儿童电阻值显著低于成年人的电阻值，提出利用电阻抗法测量与诊断龋病时必须考虑年龄的影响。
The authors tested the DC resistance of freshly-isolated live pulp teeth of 30 children and adults, and found that children’s resistance values were significantly lower than those of adults, suggesting that age must be considered when measuring and diagnosing caries using electrical impedance .
