北大成立后,百余年间的往事不可胜数。于此从教、读书的人写下的回忆文章,常有可驻足久观者。像知堂、胡适、张中行等人的著作,已成了研究现代文化史难得的资料。老北大人有一点个性的东西,那是后来的人往往不及的。仅学识的丰厚至今仍让人神往。新北大与前辈比,好像总缺少了些什么,虽然也自称是红楼的后代,但状态终有了一些区别。这一新一旧,并非辈分上的事,而是社会结构发生了变化,文化心态也有了差异。就人文学科而言,鲁迅、陈独秀那样的人,如今可有么?但新北大人有许多是保持了五四那么一点遗风的。我想这与有季羡林、王瑶等老一代学者的影响有关。季先生那本《牛棚杂忆》,王瑶的《中古文人史论》就有独立的精神在,所谓颇
Peking University was founded, more than a hundred years of past incalculable. Here from teaching, reading people who write down the memory article, often have to stop long-term viewers.
