Due to the mobility of Stations (STAs) and time-variability of wireless channels in an Extended Service Set (ESS) of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system, the Access Point (AP) load may be different from each other. The purpose of load balancing technology is to balance the load difference among AP’s so that the network resources can be efficiently utilized. The load-balancing algorithms in a WLAN system may be classified into STA/AP controlled load balancing or access-/handover-type load balancing. In a TD-SCDMA system, because minimum resources unit and media access mechanism are various, load balancing technology can be implemented based on different levels: time slot, code channel,User End (UE) or cell. With the characteristics of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Time Division Duplex (TDD),it is possible to have flexible and various algorithms of load balancing.
