在我看来,新文学史指的就是民国成立以来以白话为主干但绝不排斥其他语言形式(如文言、方言)和表现方法(如说唱)的具有现代美学意味的汉语创作史。我在一系列文章中曾逐步深入地论证新文学的起点是民国成立的观点,这是因为民国的成立确立了以现代民主观念为价值基准、以人的解放和自由为内涵和以新的审美形式为表现方法的汉语创作。只有厘清这一点,才可论及其他。作为一位文学史研究者,我很高兴看到最近几年陆续提出而且思考逐渐深入的“民国文学”、“共和国文学”等观念所引起的积极反响。因为道理很简单,新文学的边界问题超出想象地影响到我们对其价值的准确认知,而新文学史这一基本问题到现在还没有得到彻底解决,无疑也说明
In my opinion, the history of new literature refers to the history of Chinese creation with modern aesthetics which is mainly composed of vernacular since the founding of the Republic of China but never excluding other forms of language (such as classical Chinese and dialects) and performance methods (such as rap). In a series of articles, I have gradually and deeply demonstrated that the starting point of the new literature is the establishment of the Republic of China. This is because the establishment of the Republic of China established the concept of modern democracy as the value basis, the emancipation and freedom of man as the content and the new aesthetic Chinese form of expression of performance.
