西生菜品种繁多。本研究中心从1982年起引进品种达70多个,经鉴定认为以下品种较适合本地裁培。现按其结球与否分类介绍如下。(一)结球西生菜爽脆(CRISPY):来源于美国。突出表现是叶球大而紧实,外叶少,高产,优质,抗病性强。叶球绿白色,球状,单球重约0.8公斤,净菜率70.4%。叶近圆形,叶缘缺刻浅,叶面微皱,叶片较厚,外叶深绿色。植株开展度46厘米,高17厘米。质爽脆,味清甜,适生食和熟食。耐顶烧病,对霜霉病、菌核病和软腐病抗性也较强。冷凉环境下才能结球,在高温环境下易抽苔。适播期为10—12月份,最适
