在我們的四周,飛舞着無數的空氣分子。它們以很高的速度,向桌面、地面、粉牆不斷的撞擊着;也用同樣高的速度,撞擊着我們的臉、臂、腹、背。可是我們並不察覺這種情况,我們習慣了這種撞擊,仍然若無其事地生活着和工作着。假使一塊木板,一面用彈簧連接着牆壁,如下圖所表示的。在沒有什麽東西撞擊它的時候,它的位置是在甲處。如果用一顆石子向它投擊,它將壓縮彈簧,向後退縮,但是過後石子下墜了,它又回復到原來的值置。如果我們用來投擊木板的,不是一顆石子,而是一羣石子,投擊的
Around us, there are numerous air molecules flying around. They hit the table, the ground, and the wall with high speed; they also hit our faces, arms, abdomen, and back with the same high speed. However, we are not aware of this situation. We are accustomed to this kind of impact and are still living and working without incident.
