Interleukin-2 receptor (IL2R) is not expressed on the surface of resting T or B cells, but is rapidly expressed in the formation of malignant tumor cells. The presence of soluble IL2R has been demonstrated in vivo and in vitro. Its molecule is smaller than IL2R on the membrane, but it can still bind IL2. The authors measured the serum levels of soluble IL2R in 344 children with newly diagnosed ALL.
