With the continuous development of society, many cultures are imperceptibly influencing people’s life and habits. They are like invisible hands that erode people’s values and worldviews day by day. This imperceptible force was proposed by the American communication scholar Gerbner and others in the 1960s and 1970s. The central idea of this theory is that the mass media can nurture audiences in a subtle way. For example, audiences exposed to a large number of violent television programs estimate their chances of being subjected to violent attacks much higher than they actually did or with less or no contact with their peers Programmer ①.
