Arranged by Norman Rosenthal, the dynamic exhibition broker, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in London broke the stereotype and set up a series of national art exhibitions. 1985 is a German art exhibition, 1987 is the United Kingdom, now it is Italy. The “20th Century Italian Art” co-chaired by Rosengartel and the German art critic and art historian Germano Celant at the Burlington Pavilion in the Academy of Fine Arts. More than 230 paintings and sculptures vividly describe the artistic development of Italy since the 20th century.
