中国有史以来从未给任何一个外国人树立过纪念碑。但在1937年,当中国和世界上其它许多国家一起纪念普希金逝世100周年之际,在中国最大的城市上海修建了国内唯一的一座外国作家纪念碑。纪念碑上的普希金铜像坐落在黄浦江畔的汾阳路上。它的落成意味着对俄国人民的崇敬,正是他们为世界哺育了一位人类最伟大的诗人。普希金对中国有着浓厚的兴趣。还在皇村中学上学时,那些夏园里具有中国风格的建筑——亭台、楼榭、中国式的戏院就给
China never set a monument to any one foreigner ever. However, in 1937, when China, together with many other countries in the world, commemorated the centenary of Pushkin’s death, China built the only monument to foreign authors in Shanghai, China’s largest city. The Pushkin bronze statue on the monument is located on Fenyang Road beside the Huangpu River. Its completion means reverence for the Russian people. It is they who nurtured the world as one of the greatest human poets. Pushkin has a strong interest in China.
