The U.S. Air Force (USAF) has signed an exclusive contract with Harris to improve the Air Force’s full AN-MST-Tl (V) Mini-MUTES threat simulator called the Mini-MUTES Improvement Program (M3P) requiring hardware and software enhancements, including advanced threat capabilities for many systems, and the company has filed a protest with the federal court on the contract due to an exclusive contract signed by the Air Force based on a $ 49 million Contract, Harris will improve 78 long-range radiation source units (REUs) and 20 primary control groups deployed on 9 training ranges worldwide, each controlling up to 5 REUs. It includes adding an unnamed reactive threat, a new computer, and enhanced aircraft video tracking, as well as other enhancements to improve the REU to enable it to respond electronically from target aircraft and direct the measurement and reporting system to REU connected.
