长非编码RNA原被认为是基因组的垃圾,但中山大学科学家近期公布的一项研究结果证实,它对抑制乳腺癌的转移起着至关重要的作用。历时5年,来自中山大学的宋尔卫研究团队发现了这一调控乳腺癌转移的关键角色和新机制,在全球首次证实长非编码RNA可直接调控肿瘤细胞的蛋白质信号通路,从而抑制癌基因。该成果以封面文章发表在2015年3月9日出版的国际肿瘤学研究学术期刊《癌细胞》上。
Long non-coding RNA is considered genomic garbage, but a recent study by Sun Yat-sen scientists confirmed that it plays a crucial role in inhibiting breast cancer metastasis.
