反讽是重要的修辞手段。自我反讽甚至成为判断文学艺术作品质量优劣的重要标准之一。Irony来源于希腊语,它的最基本的词源含义是伪装。反讽的使用有着坚实的心理学、社会学及哲学根基。反讽不可避免。反讽根植于精神的本质和人类的生存处境,它们本质上都是矛盾的,因此,使用反讽更能表达真理。反讽作为一种文学修辞手段,它本质上拒绝自己被彻底地语法化,它的魅力并不在于一个意义永无止境地被另一个意义替代的虚无,而在于矛盾的双方共存的张力。
Irony is an important rhetorical device. Self-irony has even become one of the most important criteria for judging the quality of literary and artistic works. Irony comes from Greek, its most basic etymological meaning is disguise. The use of irony has a solid psychology, sociology and philosophical foundation. Ironic irony is inevitable. Irony is rooted in the essence of spirit and human existence, they are inherently contradictory, therefore, the use of irony to better express the truth. Ironically, as a literary rhetorical device, it essentially refuses to be completely grammaticalized. Its charm lies not in the nihility in which meaning is forever replaced by another, but in the coexistence of tension and contradiction.
