Small installations that were used to detect the location of an aircraft or missile using aerial photographs or radar display images taken in designated areas in advance were tested in the spring of 1975 for installation on Martin Marita’s “Pershing 2” ground missiles. Another use of this device is on MK.84 guided bombs instead of laser guidance. This device is called correlator. Looks like a television camera from the appearance, but its internal structure and function is completely different. This correlator was developed by Goodyear with its own funds. In 1974 it became a guidance system for the MK.84 guided bombs, with the F-4 aircraft made a static and throw test, declared a success.
