标点符号的作用很大。同样的文字,标点不同,分行分段不同,不仅会使其内容有别,主题各异,有时甚至使体裁迥别。以晚唐诗人杜牧的绝句《清明》为例:清明时节雨纷纷,路上行人欲断魂。借问酒家何处有?牧童遥指杏花村。如果标点稍加改动,便是一篇优美,隽永的散文: 清明时节,雨纷纷。路上,行人欲断魂,借问酒家:“何处有牧童?”遥指杏花村。要是稍改标点和分行,就能翻作一首精巧的词。请读这脍炙人口的小令:
Punctuation plays a big role. The same text, different punctuation points, different branches, not only make their content different, the theme varies, and sometimes even make a genre screening. Take the verse of the late Tang Dynasty poet Du Muh Ching Ming as an example: In the rainy season during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the passers-by wanted to break the soul. Where can I find the restaurant? The shepherd boy points to Heng Fa Chuen. If the punctuation changes a bit, it is a beautiful, timeless prose: During the Ching Ming Festival, there was a lot of rain. On the way, pedestrians want to break their souls and ask the restaurant: “Where is there a shepherd boy?” Yao Zhi refers to Heng Fa Village.
