血管平滑肌细胞(VSMCs)表型改变、增殖、迁移、钙化等生物学活动的改变在动脉粥样硬化(AS)发生发展过程中具有重要作用。流行病学以及体内外实验研究表明,牙周炎与AS之间关系密切。而牙龈卟啉单胞菌(P.gingivalis)作为慢性牙周炎的主要致病菌之一,能侵入VSMCs,并通过改变细胞结构,促进增殖和迁移,促进多种炎性因子的分泌、钙化等,参与AS的形成与发展。文章主要从P.gingivalis对VSMCs各生物学活动的影响进展做一综述,以期进一步揭示牙周疾病与AS之间的关联,为两者之间关系的研究提供一定思路。
